Woodbridge claimed the team title while defending champion Perth Amboy finished in third place, following runnerup Piscataway. Bishop Ahr's Anthony Cavico four-peated as a District XIX champion while the only other grappler to repeat was J.P. Stevens' Gene Zanetti who won his second title. JFK-Iselin's Jason Massimino was named the Outstanding Wrestler after cruising to the 135-pound crown. It was the top-seeded Massimino's first individual gold medal. Five silver medalists from last season took the step to the top of victory podium to pick up gold medals. Theye were the Woodbridge trio of Scott Andersch, Matt Kovacs and Marcello Medini along with Ted Karmaszin of J.P. Stevens and Massimino. mm
